Karela medium sized – 8 pieces
Mustard oil - 3 tbsps
Fennel seeds – ½ tsp
Onion seeds – ½ tsp
Red chilli powder – ½ tsp
Dhania powder – ½ tsp
Roasted Jeera powder – 1 tsp
Kabita’s Sabji masala – 2 tsps
Onion – 1 medium chopped
*Steps -
Scrape the Karela skin and keep aside . Slit down the middle and remove all the seeds .
In a fry pan heat 2 tbsps of mustard oil and fry the onion till golden . Add in the chopped peel and fry till well cooked and then add in all the whole and powder spices alongwith Kabita’s subzi masala .Allow to cool.
Stuff into the slit karela and roughly tie with thread to hold together .
Heat the remaining oil & add the karela and cook on a gentle flame till well done
